Highlights
We
have undertaken a wide range of assignments for foundations
of varying sizes, stages of development and philanthropic
approaches.
For
example, we worked closely with the board and staff of The
Ellis Center for Educational Excellence to develop grantmaking
strategies and helped them move forward in policy development
and grantmaking practice. Facilitating board and staff deliberations
resulted in an articulated foundation change strategy and
process to implement the approach. We helped the board frame
education grantmaking issues and challenges by conducting
research of education reform best practice and conducting
a community assessment to determine need. Additionally, we
outlined a civic engagement strategy to assist the foundation
in conducting a public conversation about school improvement.
In
another case, The Helios Education Foundation needed to operationalize
its strategic planning. We guided them through a process which
resulted in the design of their funding strategies and policies
and internal grant management. We worked with the Foundation’s
senior staff to construct a change strategy to guide decision
making for organization, planning and grantmaking.
