Jeff
Glebocki is nationally recognized
for his extensive and far-reaching service to the philanthropic
and nonprofit communities. His work is based on passion and
advocacy for equity in disadvantaged communities through strategic
program development, effective grantmaking, and the enhancement
of organizational and human capacities. He brings a particular
expertise in working with family and private foundations as
senior staff and as a consultant.
Jeff has completed the National Center for Family Philanthropy training necessary to lead a family foundation through its Pursuit of Excellence Assessment Process. This is the first such tool designed specifically for family foundations, and enables them to understand their strengths as well as areas for improvement around legacy, vision, mission, governance, family involvement, board functions, grantmaking, fiscal oversight and foundation management. The tool measures a foundation's views both on how they currently operate and what they aspire to.
Genetically
hard-wired to make change, and from as far back as his community
service efforts in elementary school, Jeff acts when he sees
things that could be better, more effective, and made right.
He works to change the systems and environments that limit
opportunity or support for people, ideas, or places so they
achieve their full potential, as well as working to create
venues for people to share ideas and create new ways of doing
things.
He is founder and principal of Strategy + Action Consulting,
LLC which serves philanthropies, institutions and nonprofits
in the strategic development of their organizations and programs.

Jeff
is also a speaker at and presenter of workshops throughout
the country for foundation board and staff, nonprofit organizations,
higher education institutions and public agencies. He has
served as a consultant to The Key Trust Company for The Kenneth
A. Scott Charitable Trust, The George Gund Foundation, The
Center for Leadership in Education, and Common Ground: The
Cindy Nord Center for Renewal, among others.
He
has worked as senior program staff for three family and private
foundations. Jeff managed the youth development program area
for The Virginia G. Piper Charitable Trust in Scottsdale,
Arizona, one of that state’s largest foundations, and
designed a process to refine the Trust’s approach in
the youth field. He was part of the Education Policy Work
Group of the Arizona Youth Development Task Force at the invitation
of Governor Janet Napolitano; the Executive Committee of the
Maricopa Council on Youth Sports and Physical Activity; and
the Program Committee of the Arizona Community Foundation’s
Tapestry Fund.
At
The George Gund Foundation in Cleveland, the largest family
foundation in Ohio, Jeff oversaw education grantmaking of
up to $5 million annually. His work was instrumental in contributing
to the measured improvement of student achievement in urban
schools, increased public support for public education, and
the strengthening of public policy and nonprofit infrastructure
to sustain school reform. Jeff also managed grantmaking in
higher education, national school improvement policy, and
special projects. He was appointed to the Ohio Commission
on Dispute Resolution and Conflict Management by Governor
Bob Taft.
Jeff
served as founding program officer for The Nord Family Foundation’s
civic affairs program in Lorain County, Ohio and Columbia,
South Carolina, increasing opportunities in disadvantaged
communities. He created and managed two countywide Foundation
initiatives to build the capacity of local communities and
organizations - the Public Service Internship Program, and
the Grassroots Leadership Development Program. Governor George
V. Voinovich appointed Jeff to the State of Ohio’s Housing
Trust Fund Advisory Committee.
He
has served on the board of Grantmakers for Education, the
national affinity group for education funders, as well as
on several of that group’s committees, including the
effort to develop “Principles for Effective Education
Grantmaking.” Jeff was a founding board member of Philanthropy
for Active Civic Engagement (PACE), a new national affinity
group; was a long-time board member of the Grantmaker Forum
on Community and National Service and chair of their 2002
national conference; a board member of the Donors Forum of
Ohio, the regional association of grantmakers for that state,
and sat on several committees of its successor, the Ohio Grantmakers
Forum. He has also served as Executive Director of two community-based
neighborhood economic development organizations, and was co-founder
of a third such nonprofit.

Glebocki resides in Tucson, Arizona where you are likely to
